restaurants to try during EAG SF
“I finally realised the other day that the Bay is in California which means it has In n out burger."
My second favourite reason to travel is for food. My favourite is to meet great people. Luckily during this February's EAG you can do both with this round-up of restaurant recommendations from other EAs.
“I really like gotts roadside and I think they do the best impossible burgers I’ve had (normal burgers also good)” - Dustin Moskovitz (@moskov)
“MY Coffee Roastery in Berkeley is possibly my favorite coffee shop in the world” - Trevor L (@trEVmaximizer)
“Bevri in Palo Alto for Georgian cuisine” - Jenny Duan (@jennysduan)
“In Palo Alto, Wildseed, but that's only if people are looking on the Peninsula. Oakland/Berkeley, I'd say Nature Vegetarian, Golden Era, Souley Vegan (all walking distance). Further away, Malibu's Burger, Butcher's Son, Shangri-La (the latter being the only healthy one), or Millennium (the latter being the fanciest one)” - Zach Freitas-Groff (@zdgroff)
“I like [Pakwan]! The saag daal is delicious.” - Alexander Berger (@albrgr)
“I finally realised the other day that the Bay is in California which means it has In n out burger. I’m now planning my EAG around in n out” - Shakeel Hashim (@ShakeelHashim)

Oh, forgot about pizza near the venue: Square Pie Guys has vegan and gluten free Detroit style pizza. Namaste, in Berkeley, has vegan, gluten free Indian pizza (and regular pizza). Most pizza places have an option for vegan cheese.
Wildseed also has a location in SF on Union Street. Not accessible by BART or MUNI trains but you can get there by MUNI bus or Uber/Lyft.
I live in the area. I also recommend Quickly for boba/snacks, which is in walking distance of the hotel. There's also Ike's subs, which has many vegan options.
If you want Japanese curry (something that's a bit hard to get outside Japan and the West Coast), there's a great spot in Alameda called Urban Ka-re House with vegetarian options (that I think are also vegan but they don't advertise that way).
